What Actually is Kali Linux

WHAT IS LINUX ?


→  Linux is an operating system

→  It is a copy of unix i.e it is originated from UNIX but is an advanced version of it or we can say that it was made to overcome the drawbacks of UNIX OS like some bug fixes , performance improvements etc.

→  Linux advantage is that it has it has a SHELL. A shell is a software that works above kernel and below applications

"We all know that machine only understands 0 & 1 i.e. off and on state of electrical impulse(we can say signal in most basic form) as human we cannot write and understand much more complex and large codes of binary. To overcome this problem SHELL was introduced, it takes input in human native language and then convert that into binary i.e 0 & 1 to make that understandable to machine to perform the desired task"


⇨   Linux has many distributions which have diffrent features and GUI based on specific needs like ubuntu, redhat ,parrot security ,linux mint etc.


⇨  KALI LINUX IS A DISTRIBUTION OF LINUX MADE BY OFFENSIVE SECURITY , it is based on debian that is highly stable and mainly focuses on Security related stuff like info. gathering , itruding ,checking vulnerabilities , exploiting them , wireless attacks ,computer forensic and reverse engg. etc.

⇒   It can be run without installing it i.e in LIVE mode.

⇒   Like most of the linux distributions it is free of cost to download and use.

⇒   Basic Requirements for kali linux :
  • A minimum of 20 GB hard disk space.
  • A USB drive or DVD which can be made bootable via rofus.
  • 1 GB RAM is must for i386 and AMD64 architecture.

How to install kali linux in your system

First burn the kali linux image to a dvd(best option and recommended by me also)..............else you can use rufus to create a bootabel pendrive. link for kali iso: https://www.kali.org/downloads/ link for rufus: https://rufus.akeo.ie/ Now boot through these drive and proceed as done below : You will see the kali boot menu.............select GRAPHICAL install for most basic and easy installation of kali. Here select the language that suits you the best--------->continue.
